An example of a bad Siri handoff is “Hey Siri open Robinhood” and the actively used phone passing off to HomePod for Siri to say she can’t open apps.

I find that I want to say “Hey HomePod” to address it sometimes. I don’t think they’ll ever add that as an additional trigger phrase though. Might just be a growing pain.

“Hey Siri, play me something I’ll like.” ➡️ Okay, lets start with FM by Steely Dan. Nice work Siri, I nearly had this one the test playlist. I think this might be my favorite song reproduction so far. I can’t wait to hear two of these things in this room.

Just rotated HomePod so the “front” is into the living room where I’ve mainly been sitting and I think that was the technique. It definitively favors its reproduction for the “front” (cable out the caboose). Nice vocal separation during Southern Cross.

HomePod is excellent during the orchestral section of Illumination Theory.

Music tile is my HomePod but the volume slider below is for the phone. Makes sense but, for me at least, this is the first time where the two are disjointed.

If you’re wondering if Geddy’s live bass sound rips via HomePod, you won’t be disappointed. However from behind it sounds way worse. I think this long room is really confusing it.

Interesting. I can tell that it sounds significantly better, and I think better, in my kitchen than in the living room. Standing an equidistant from it. It’s at the end of my island between the two areas.

I could tell HomePod made some adjustments while playing The Big Money. Notice the woofer seems to struggle during the really busy bass line and double kick drum of 6:00. Blank Space is off to a good start.

HomePod was delivered far earlier this morning than I anticipated. Guess I will cut this work day short and finish my day out at home.
